As an 18 year old I was introduced to the wonder of groove through Reggae by my dear friend from Ghana, Randy Borquaye, to whom I am eternally grateful. Sadly, Randy's mother passed away and to allow for the family to properly respect her passing back in Africa we are holding a benefit gig. This will allow Randy to return home and attend to matters required as he is the eldest child.
This coming Sunday afternoon @ the Central Club Hotel, Swan St, Richmond. 4pm ~ 8pm. Will feature four of the original Jah Roots lineup from the early 80's, with Randy's immensely talented daughter Vida Sunshyne also performing with us. Up and coming outfit Kooyeh will close the evening with their original grooves.
So if you ever came down to the Terminus Hotel in Clifton Hill on a Saturday afternoon back in the 1980's and shook your bunty then please show your support for the man who made it all possible; Randy Borquaye.
